Creme Global to Discuss Big Data and Monte Carlo Methods at STRONGnet Workshop in Germany
Written by Creme Global
STRONGnet is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) whose objective is to provide training and experience to researchers. The prime focus of the workshop is “Big Data” and among those attending are Ph.D. and postdoctoral students from third level institutions across the EU.
During the first three days of the workshop, speakers from several European universities will each deliver a set of lectures in the areas of Monte Carlo methods and data analysis. Thursday is reserved for speakers from industry. Seamus will present a talk on the background to, and implementation of, the four year FACET project in which Creme Global played an integral part. FACET involved the creation of a food chemical surveillance system covering representative regions of the EU that uses large data sets and Monte Carlo simulations to assess consumer exposure to food additives, flavourings, and contaminants from food packaging.
